My Exploding Box

Thank you Lythan for showing me your exploding box. This is my attempt. I've made it for my Mum and left it blank inside so she can add her favourite photos of her Grandsons. I've put the names of my two sons Lachlan & Cameron and my new nephew Aidan on the sides of the lid.

Thankyou very much also to Anso who wrote the class that I used. I usually have trouble following instructions for folding card. Anso your instructions were very easy to understand and a breeze to work with. The instructions can be found on Anso's blog 'Glitter Adventure'.

Doodle Do

I freaked out when I saw this challenge and told the design team I wasn't going to be any part of it. Kel very kindly explained how simple it could be just using stitching lines etc. I realised I already had a card in my stash with stitching lines. Here it is my Santa Stocking card:-

Next after I got a bit braver I put together this flower card. Any excuse to buy another flower punch. Next I had to work out how to doodle with it. On my third try this is what I came up with. A doodled vine with leaves and punched flowers. The flowers have doodles in the centre.

Daring Card Makers - Little Extra 'SPARKLE'

I have to admit that when I heard sparkle I instantly thought of my favourite card making supply glitter. My friend Donna is going to be grinning from ear to ear when she reads this. I've been a lazy girl this week though and grabbed this card out of my stash. It is a left over from last Christmas or the one before I think.

The train went over well

We went to lunch with my in-laws on Satuday to celebrate Neil's birthday. Dave my DH thought the train card was too good to write in. Neil declared that he would certainly be keeping the card. The only other card he's ever kept is a sound card with a quote from 'One Foot in the Grave'. High praise indeed!!!

Male Card with a Ribbon

The week five daring cardmakers dare as set by Debbie is to create a card for a male using ribbon.

To create the background for the playing card I swiped blue corrugated card with my versamark ink pad and drizzled red and gold embossing powder over it and heated with my heat gun.

DCM Little Extra - Recipe

For this little extra we needed to make a card using 1 tag, 2 different fibres and 3 different papers. For other examples click on the daring cardmakers logo in my sidebar.

I'm quite pleased with the photo for this card. I had to use the digital camera instead of the scanner as the fibres went all over the place when the card was put flat on the scanner. I'm also quite pleased with the card itself as green and pink aren't colours I usually put together (See Kathy no Purple!!!) and I don't usually work with tags and fibres either.

Wilkom, Beinvenue, Welcome from the Junior Card Maker

Like mother, like son, Lachlan, aged 6, wants to be a daring card maker too. Lachlan's card is showing you how to say body parts in New Zealand Maori.

Wilkom, Beinvenue, Welcome

These are my contributions to the Daring Cardmakers Dare 4 using foreign languages. In the first one I have gone for a romantic look using 'Hero Arts' Italian Poetry Background stamp. I have no idea what it means so I am giving my trust completely to the Hero Arts design team. The second was inspired by my six year old son Lachlan who is bringing a lot of Maori words home from school, especially numbers and colours.

Please join us - We Dare You!!!

My Father In Law's Birthday Card

I was sorting through a great pile of magazines yesterday and found a March 05 edition of 'creative cardmaking ideas'. I'd put it aside meaning to make their train card for my Father In Law. Good timing, his birthday is on the 16th. The photo is of 'Gloria' the steam engine that pulled the 'Daffodil Express' that our family travelled on from Wellington to Carteron in early September.

A Stitch in Time - Dare 3

This dare really taxed my imagination. I'm a stamper. How was I going to have sewing and stamping on one card. The background for this card is a heart stamp stamped over and over with chalk ink. The buttons were given to me by 'KiwiScraps' in Wellington, NZ when I went to a screening of the scrapped movie last week. What great timing!
