I've Been Tagged

I have been tagged by Manic Stamper (Sheila)
Each player starts with 7 random facts/habits about themselves.
People who are tagged need to blog about their 7 things and post the rules as well
At the end of your blog you need to choose 7 people to get tagged and list their names.
Don't forget to leave them a comment telling them that they have been tagged and to read your blog.
OK here are 7 random facts about my terribly exciting life, I wish.
1) I am a terrible housekeeper, housework is done when I can't stand the mess or someones coming to visit.
2) You may have guessed from my blog that my favourite colours are blue & purple.
3) I can not back a trailer, not that I've ever tried.
4) I can not get to sleep at night without reading a book first.
5) I have mild fears of heights and enclosed spaces.
6) I do own one but for the last probably 10 years I have never worn a dress.
7) I have never done a parallel park since I passed by driving test.
OK now I want to find out all about.........Donna, Jane, Gillian, Lythan, Lynne, Tracie & Debbie.

DCM - Little Extra - Primary Colours

The little extra this week is to use one, two or three of the primary colours, any style any theme.

I have chosen blue and had a great if messy time sponging shades of blue through a circle stencil on to white card. Master 4 helped by choosing the next ink pad and the size of the next circle. We both ended up with blue stained hands at the end.

DCM - Gillian's Felt Dare

Wow has it been busy with the school holidays, stamp camps, friends coming over to see what I did at the stamp camp etc, etc. So for this dare I used a tried and true stamp that has been stamped on many different surfaces 'Barrington Bear'. Here in answer Gillian's dare I have stamped the bear on to pink felt using Black Stazon Ink and again onto the patterned paper and used this for the paws, ears, etc.

The absolute best weekend

I have just spent two days in the company of other cardmakers learning to make the fantastic cards in the photo.

My favourite was our first class on Sunday morning, the shopping list.

Thankyou so much to Stamp Zone from Auckland, Kay and Sue our tutors, Colin who looked after the shop, organised the absolutely yummy lunches, and Wendy who we didn't meet but designed a lot of the lovely classes. All the necessary supplies for the classes were provided in kit form which was absolutely fabulous along with a magazine and stamp given to each cardmaker as a free gift.

Crossing Continents - DCM Dare

My apologies for not posting this earlier. I went away to a stamp camp on Friday night and came home for earlier this evening. I had a great time making 12 cards, kits all provided and lunch for both days provided as well.

Saffa has dared us to create a card to celebrate a festival or celebration for a culture not our own. I have chosen Divali after being invited to celebrate Divali with a workmate of mine quite a few years ago now, prekids. I remember her house being strung with Christmas lights and this is what I've tried to incorporate into my card.

DCM: Art Attack

It's Rhi's turn this week and she's dared as to take our inspiration from some Artwork or an Artisit.

Here's mine:

The print is one that I rescued after my Great Grandfather passed away, I was eleven at the time.

The background on the card was done with three different ink pads and a stipple brush over a cloud template. The words 'Which one do you love best?' is the text that is just visible underneath the print.
