DCM: - Working 9 - 5

Jo has challenged us to make a card using bits and bobs usually found in an office.

Here goes:

Here's one for those of you who can still remember being taught to type on a typewriter rather than a keyboard. The background I did in Word in courier font and then sponged over some ink to make it look a bit older. I hadn't really intended to use the blue. Teach me to wash the sponge between uses.

Jo's Pink Challenge on Bex's Forum

Here's the card I've made for the Pink Challenge set by Jo on Bex's forum:

DCM - Starting from Scratch

This week it was Tracie's (Bondgirl) turn to set the dare ....For this weeks dare, I dare you to "start from scratch" I want to you design a card with NO purchased/pre-assembled embellishments - that means no blooms unless you cut them yourself, no buttons, brads etc etc. I guess how easy this is depends on your usual style.

At first I thought great as this is my usual style and then all the choices I had started to overwhelm me until I looked out the window and saw my flowering cherry tree losing it's leaves and then remembered a technique I have used in the past with leaf stamps.

Here it is:

I brayered white gloss card with a kaleidocolour ink pad after spraying the brayer with water. This is the background for the leaves and the shiny frame. The brown background card has leaves stamped on it with versamark watermark ink. Go and see the cards from the rest of the team here. They have created some amazing cards this week.

Food for Thought

The wonderful Kathy has scared us with her dare this week. Make any card on any theme as long as somehow it involves food.

I have to admit to being very busy this week and having this icecream card sitting in my stash. The scoop of icecream comes from wrapping paper, the cone is card from card and the icecream and background is laminated.

The being very busy this week comes from finding out that some greedy developer is planning on slapping two, two storey townhouses right in the middle of our beautiful 1960s cul de sac. I went to the Tawa Community Board meeting to plead our case and got the bonus of the Wellington City Council Mayor being present as well. I've just done an envelope drop in the street to let them know how it went and now all we can do is wait.

DCM: Fly or Flight

Jane has set the challenge for this week. Any occaision, any style as long as somewhere on your card there are wings.

Here is my card:

I have sponged has different ink shades through a 'Krafty Frames' template and then stamped the dragonfly over the template. The dragonfly was stamped on to white card and glittered and given wire attenae then attached over one of the dragonfiles on the template.
