DCM: - Song Without Words

Lythan's dare is to take your inspiration from a song, but without the words. I think you'll find that mine is very easy to work out. The name of the sizzlits die I used is also the name of the song.

Some images (c) Stampin' Up! 1990-2007

All supplies used are Stampin' Up! unless named otherwise - Festive Favourites Stamp Set, Sizzix Jingle Bells Sizzlits Die, Holiday Thyme DSP, Bashful Blue & True Thyme Cardstock, True Thyme Classic ink, Snail, Stampin' Dimensionals and a scrap of Gold Metallic cardstock from somewhere.

Did you get it right? It's Jingle Bells.

Say Bye Bye to Spring

With all the gorgeous weather we've been having it's goodbye to Spring at the end of November and when the seasons change so do the Stampin' Up mini catalogues.

All Images (c) Stampin' Up 1990-2007

This card has been the one that I've demonstrated most from the Spring Mini and I've still got one to go for a workshop early next week. This card uses all Stampin' Up! Product and features the Petals Jumbo Wheel, Petals and Paisleys DSP and the Polka Dots and Petals Stamp Set with Old Olive Cardstock, Old Olive, So Saffron and Pretty in Pink classic ink pads, white organdy ribbon, a tempting turquoise mini brad and the tag punch. It was a great way to use up my DSP left overs and show off the ease of use of the tag punch. I'm going to miss it.

Have you got anything waiting on your wish list that is only available from the Spring Mini Catalogue. You need to contact me before 30 November 2007 to purchase, email me keryn.campbell@xtra.co.nz.

The new Summer Mini Catalogue is available from me now. Contact me by Email, keryn.campbell@xtra.co.nz to have it posted to you (New Zealand only please). You can purchase the gorgeous new stamp sets, wheels, double sided papers and wide Grosgrain ribbon from the 1 December to 31 March 2008.

Golden Highlights

It's my turn to set the DCM dare this week.

"Hello to you all this week it's my (Keryn's) turn to set the dare. We would like to introduce the very talented and creative Louly as our Guest Designer for the next two weeks. Welcome Louly. We've really enjoyed seeing all your cards for Jo's corrugated dare and the Santa's Little Extra Helper.
Going back over my cards I seem to have a liking for gold as an accent colour. So this week I'd like you to make a card for any season or occasion but must include gold somewhere. It could be a brad, metallic card, heat embossing, ribbon, anything at all as long as it's gold."

Here's Mine:

All supplies Stampin' Up! unless advised otherwise. Warmest Regards Stampset, Old olive & Bashful Blue cardstock, holiday thyme ds paper, old olive classic ink pad, snail. Metallic gold paper from The Warehouse.

SAS is over and Fantastic Christmas Cracker Template

Thank you to the ladies that joined me for my Christmas Stamp A Stack for a fabulous day. Heaps of creativity, tons of chat, no children and a good time was had by all. Sixty cards were made by five ladies over four hours with a break for lunch. Creativity was flowing!!!

Now that all the planning for the SAS is over I had time to try out Lynette's fabulous Christmas Cracker template. You can see it here on her blog.

Here's what I came up with:

All images (c) Stampin' Up 1990-2007

I decorated a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock using Stampin' Up!'s Festive Favorites stamp set and So Saffron, Old Olive and Chocolate Chip classic ink pads.

I can't wait for my order to come with my pack of 'Holiday Thyme' double sided paper in it. I think it would be fabulous to make up the cracker with. Watch this space, hopefully not too much longer.

Just Bex - Chocolate Challenge

This challenge was just what I needed for a break in my busy schedule. The Hershey's Kisses just happened to be in the house as a little treat for the ladies who are coming to do my Christmas Stamp A Stack on Saturday. Lucky they don't have to know how many the packet started off with. Also lucky is that two small boys can't reach the pantry shelf I'm storing them on.

The stamp is from 'Stampendous' and other supplies including Chocolate Chip Classic Ink Pad, Very Vanilla and Chocolate Chip Cardstock and Spring Flowers DSP are from Stampin' Up!

Look at all the other wonderful creations on Bex Forum.

A Quick and Easy Christmas Card - Holiday Wishes

We all love to make our Christmas cards but some people we send them to just don't appreciate all our hard work and talent but we still want to send something we've made ourselves. Quick and Easy card designs that look great on the mantlepiece is what we need to be making. Here is one that I'm using this year.

All Images (c) Stampin' Up! 1990-2007

All supplies used are Stampin' Up! Monochromatic cards, one other colour and white, allways stand out. For this one I have used Stampin' Up stamp set 'Holiday Wishes'. I have stamped the tree onto Whisper White card stock in Brilliant Blue ink and layered onto a Brillian Blue card blank. I then stamped the star and the present onto Brilliant blue cardstock with Basic Black ink and cut out. I adhered the star and present onto the tree as shown with Stampin' Dimensionals to make them stand out. Quick and easy with POP!

.... and CUT!

I've managed to get organised early for the Stampin' Up! workshop I'm doing today with a lovely group of ladies in Waikanae so I thought I'd use the time to do the post for the lastest Daring Cardmakers Dare.

Tracie has challenged us to use some hand cutting on our cards. We've all got very used to cuttlebugs and craft robos and other cutting machines lately. I've been so busy this week that I didn't have time to dream up anything new so have made another version of a very popular card of mine the kiss technique elephant. The cut by hand piece is the elephants ear.

All images (c) Stampin' Up! 1990-2007

All products used in this card are Stampin' Up!. First heavily ink up Paisley Background stamp with Old Olive Ink then stamp the elephant from 'Wild About You' into the Paisley stamp. Next stamp the elephant on to whisper white cardstock. You should have a paisley elephant. Next stamp the elephant with old olive ink onto a scrap piece of whisper white cardstock and cut out the ear. Attach to the elephant. Stamp the flower in old olive ink on an old olive card blank to create the flower backgrounds then again in So Saffron ink in the elephants trunk. Layer the elephant image onto summer sun cardstock. Adhere piece of Petals and Paisley DS Paper to the bottom of the card blank and cover the edge with a strip of summer sun card. Adhere the elephant image as shown. Thank you to my Upline Sharlene Meyer for showing me the kiss technique.

Now off to the workshop. I'm looking forward to a nice leisurely drive up the coast to Waikanae then spending a couple of hours demonstrating projects and doing a make and take with some lovely ladies and a leisurely drive home again, hopefully selling some Stampin' Up! product in the process. What could be better.
