DCM: Checked Out

I've dragged out a favourite card design for this one. I just love using patterned papers behind clothing stamps.

Here's a shirt card especially for Father's Day which is coming up in NZ on the 2 September.

Aren't these just the cutest boxes.

The green box is one that I've used for a number of years, template courtesy of Donna Hooper. It's been great for gifts for Kindy teachers, school teachers, miscellaneous thank yous etc.

The purple box I only found out about recently and it's an adaptation, from A4 to A5, from a template on Splitcoaststampers.

I've been playing again.

I've been having such a good time playing with my Stampin' Up! stash. I've even managed a couple of 6 x 6 layouts of the boys. Here are a couple of cards I've come up with whilst playing.

Stampin' Up!

I went to Stampin' Up! training today and handed in my forms to become a demonstrator. When my kit comes in two weeks I'll soon be all up and running to run workshops and take orders.

My demo kit and a few other necessary bits and pieces have just cleared customs in Auckland so hopefully will reach me by Friday.

The goodies have arrived in three big boxes. Some of it boring forms and stuff but the rest of it was my pinny with the SU logo, stamps, ink pads, ribbon, brads, buttons, card stock, markers, glue, scissors, punches, pastels, blender pens etc, etc, etc,

DCM - Haberdashery

Gillian wants us to dig right to the bottom of our sewing boxes/baskets and use whatever we find on a card.

Here's mine:

I'd completely forgotten that the wings and the two ribbons were even in there. The wings were left over from some Christmas decorations I made about six years ago, I think.

Please welcome to the DCM our guest designer for the next two weeks Donna.

Text Message

This weeks DCM Dare is a team dare:

We'd like you to incorporate Text into your cards this week - not just one word but a portion of TEXT like a poem or newspaper print etc etc

I didn't start out to make the card I did. I had all these great ideas for a card for Donna's birthday. Happy Birthday Donna I hope you liked the card I sent you anyway. I was taking Master 7 to Kiwiscraps on Monday and I just had to have a look around the patterned papers and the one on the card called out to be taken home. When I went to pick him up two hours later I had the card mostly made and picked up the purple ric rac so I could put it all together. It's nice when a card comes together all by itself.
