Merry Christmas To Me

This is what the family bought me for Christmas. I've been wanting a Colour Caddy for ages but definately since I had no more room for new ink pads because the drawer was full. As you can see I have heaps of room now for expansion. Roll on Sale-A-Bration the perfect time to fill in the gaps.

Thanks Petronelah

I was browsing Petronelah's blog Keep Stamping yesterday and found her latest post - a card she had CASE'd from the front cover of the Sale-A-Bration 09 brochure. I thought what a good idea and have come up with my own version: -

I didn't have a Rose Red inkpad like the one used on the brochure so went to my Colour Coach and picked Gable Green and Pixie Pink from the other choices for a match with Bashful Blue.

Supplies all Stampin' Up!® - In the Spotlight & In the Stars Stamp Sets, Whisper White, Bashful Blue and So Saffron Cardstock, Bashful Blue, So Saffron, Pixie Pink and Gable Green, Craft Tool Kit, 1/2" circle punch, 5/8" very vanilla grosgrain ribbon, stampin dimensionals and snail adhesive.

Then on a roll I flicked over a couple of pages to page 3 and again created this card based on one in the brochure.

Supplies used all Stampin' Up!® - Paisley and Oh So Lovely Stamp Sets, Cherished Memories Rub Ons, Blush Blossom, Ruby Red and Old Olvie Cardstock, Ruby Red Classic Ink Pad, Ruby Red and Old Olive Stampin' Write Markers, Blender Pen, Bone Folder, Paper Cutter, Paper Snips, 6mm Whisper White Grosgrain Ribbon, Stampin' Dimensionals, Snail Adhesive.

Contact me if you would like me to send you a PDF copy of the Stampin' Up!® 2009 Sale A Bration brochure.

Following a link on Splitcoast Stampers I found some very easy to follow instructions for a lip balm holder here on Dawns' Blog - Stampin Creations.

Here's the one I made: -

I didn't even have to alter the instructions for the size of the lip balm tube. Some things are the same the world over.

All supplies used Stampin' Up!®: - Perfect Princess & Much Appreciated Stamp Sets, Brilliant Blue Classic Ink Pad, Night of Navy Stampin' Write Marker, Paper Cutter, Slit, 1 1/4" circle, 1 3/8" circle and scallop circle punches, Whisper White 6mm grosgrain ribbon, paper snips, sticky strip, briilian blue designer series paper, brilliant blue and whisper white cardstock.

A Great Holiday Activity for the Kids

After making candles at the Hutt City Baptist Church craft night a couple of weeks ago I thought what a great thing to do with the kids during the holidays. I ordered some wax sheets and wicks from the Beeswax Company in Geraldine that had been recommended on the night. It arrived yesterday, Sunday, which I thought was an odd day for a courier delivery. Nobody could wait so Cathryn and her two kids and Lachlan, Cameron and I sat down this afternoon around my dining room table to make candles. I thought 16 sheets of wax would last for ages but within 3/4 of an hour we had lots and lots of candles and four very happy smiley children. Cathryn and I are going to have to order some more when the kids are back at school as we didn't even get a look in.

Have a look at this post on Lachlan's blog for his take on the afternoon's activities.

Cathyn took her kids and their candles home before I took the photo so imagine twice as many candles.

Wild Wasabi Stars

Stars seem to the flavour of the month around here, at least for my last two projects: -

I added another new design to my Christmas card selection this year, inspired first by Donna's entry in my October Papercrafting Challenge and then Donna sent me the link to the instructions on Petronela's blog. Mine came out as a mix of the two with Donna's doodling and Petronela's stars.

All supplies Stampin' Up!® - Wild Wasabi and Whisper White Cardstock, Wild Wasabi Classic Ink, Load of Love Stamp Set, Basic Black Journaller and Stampin' Write Marker, Scatter Sunshine Jumbo Stampin' Around Wheel, Large and Small Star Punches, Paper Cutter, Snail, stampin' sponge.

The other star project was my first attempt at a Splitcoast Stampers Challenge. This challenge was to make a mini magazine file using the instructions provided by Becky on her blog. I've had a go at uploading into a splitcoast gallery but realised some things need to be changed to get it to show properly so hopefully I'll work out how to get that sorted soon.

All supplies Stampin' Up!® - All in the Stars Stamp Set, Wild Wasabi and Whisper White Cardstock, Wild Wasabi Ink, East Coast Prep DSP, Wild Wasabi Double Stitched Ribbon, Sticky Strip, Paper Cutter, Paper Snips, Large Star Punch

Hutt City Baptist Church Craft Night

Last night I was invited by ladies from my customer base to go to a craft night at the Lower Hutt Baptist Church. I had been asked if they could use some Christmas Tree decorations I had demo'd at a recent workshop so I was expecting to see those. What they'd also used was the scallop circle decoration posted earlier here on my blog and to my delight they'd tried a new variation with the 5 Petal flower punch. Here's the one I made last night using Dashing DSP and the embellishments provided.
One of the lovely things about being a Stampin' Up!® demonstrator is the wonderful friendships that I've been making and the swapping of ideas that goes backwards and forwards.

Card using Scallop Edge Punch in a new way

I found instructions for using the scallop edge punch to scallop an inside edge rather than an outside edge here in the splicoast stampers gallery.

Here is my version of lazylizard's card using different colours and stamp sets.

All supplies Stampin' Up!® - sincere salutations & merry merry stamp sets, purely pomegranate classic ink pad, berry bliss dsp, purely pomegranate, pretty in pink & close to cocoa cardstock, pretties kit, 2 way glue, paper cutter, snail adhesive.
