Colour Challenge No. 9

Each Friday I'm going to spin my Colour Coach without looking and find a new colour combination.

Today's combination is: - Gable Green, Pixie Pink and Bashful Blue plus a neutral. Yes these colours are very close to last weeks but a guess that's just the random nature of spinning the colour coach.

Supplies all Stampin' Up!® -
Stamp Sets - Polka Dot Punches, Spring Solitude
Card stock - Gable Green, Pixie Pink, Bashful Blue, Whisper White
Ink - Gable Green, Bashful Blue, Pixie Pink
Punches - Scallop Circle
Accessories - Snail Adhesive, Paper Snips, Paper Cutter.

To play along create your card using the colours listed above or the closest you have in your collection, save to your blog or website and send me a comment with your link. If you don't have a website/blog attach your card to an EMail and I will display it here with the next weeks challenge.

There is no deadline on these challenges please join in whenever you please.

If you would like to expand you cardstock collection, each week I will be offering a cardstock share consisting of 8 A4 sheets of each of the three colours listed above (does not include the neutral). DCM - Circles

Vanessa challenged us weeks ago to create a card using the theme of circles. I of course left it to the very last minute, yesterday, the day I had two Craft at Keryn's sessions and had to take Lachy to Gymnastics. So in between the first session and picking up the kids from school I sat down to make my card, three faux tags, a butterfly and two flowers this was going well. Later on putting them together during the evening Craft at Keryn's session it wasn't going as I planned and the card got changed and changed and eventually ended up with one tag butterfly. Here it is: - It is a pretty card but it wasn't what I planned and I had almost run out of time so I decided it would have to do.

On to the next card with the colours I'd chosen for my Colour Challenge. See my next post. This one went together beautifully and wouldn't you know it was a much better fit for the circle dare so this is the one I've posted on the Daring Cardmakers Blog.

Card stock - Gable Green, Pixie Pink, Bashful Blue, Whisper White

Going Through my Favourites...

... and I found this triangle box tutorial Shelley Hopps had on her blog and I'd put away to try one day. Today is that day. Perhaps it could be a good present for somebody for Easter.

Perhaps a little on the plain side but I can decorate it more later to suit the recipient.

Supplies used all Stampin' Up!® -

Paper: - Bashful Blue Cardstock, Afternoon Tea DSP

Accessories: - Sticky Strip, Moss Gingham Ribbon, Paper Cutter/Scorer, Paper Snips, Bone Folder.

I'm sure when I hold the box in my hand the ribbon isn't on such a wonky angle. Photos always pick up the tiniest faults in your projects I find. Oh well I guess it gives it a handcrafted look.

Diaper Favour Box

This is my attempt and this weeks 3D Challenge on the demo side of Splitcoast Stampers forum.
For the instruction's go to Amy Sheffer's blog
here.
I created my elephant by gently squeezing drops of Blue Bayou, Bashful Blue and Brilliant Blue ink refills onto a 'wet one'. The instructions from the SU demo website said baby wipes but Wet Ones work just as well. Don't get too heavy handed as the reinkers spread quite quickly. Use your wet one or babywipe as an inkpad and stamp as usual.

All supplies Stampin' Up!® -
Stamp Sets: - Eat Cake, Wild About You
Ink: - Bashful Blue Classic Ink Pad, Bashful Blue, Brilliant Blue, Blue Bayou Ink Refills
Card: - Bashful Blue and Whisper White Cardstock
Accessories: - Paper Cutter, Paper Snips, Mat Pack, Bold Brights Eyelets, Adhesive, Stampin' Sponge.

DCM - Fish or Frog

This week's Daring Cardmakers Challenge has been set by Rein. She wants us to make a card in for any occasion in the theme of fish or frog.

Here's my card: -

This was one of those times when I really could have done with the Ocean Commotion stamp set from the Stampin' Up!® summer mini but no such luck so I used some pre Stampin' Up!® fish stamps from Handcraft House. The sea background was created by sponging bashful blue over the torn edge of a piece of scrap paper leaving some white in between. The sage shadow and brocade blue was sponged in the gaps. The frolicking dolphins were stamped in brocade blue ink to complete the background.

Stampin' Up!® supplies used: -

Inks - Bashful Blue, Brocade Blue, Sage Shadow Classic Ink pads, Versamark

Papers - Whisper White, Brocade Blue, & Going Gray Cardstock

Accessories - Stampin' Sponge, Paper Cutter, Paper Snips, Clear Embossing Powder, Heat Tool, Adhesive.

Colour Challenge No. 6

Each Friday I'm going to spin my Colour Coach without looking and find a new colour combination.

Today's combination is: - Taken with Teal, Tempting Turquoise, Blush Blossom and a Neutral

As you can see I'm still enjoying using Botanical blooms. You have until the 28 February to place your $120 order and receive the Sale-A-Bration set of your choice for free. Perhaps it's time I started a random Stamp Set challenge. LOL!

I used an Embossed Resist technique to this card. To get the texture on the background I used a direct to paper technique with my Taken with Teal Classic ink pad dragging it across the cardstock. The gaps were filled in with the same ink pad and a Stampin' Sponge. Their is a tutorial here for Embossed Resist on the Splitcoast Stampers site.

Supplies used All Stampin' Up!® -
Stamp Set - Botanical Blooms

Cardstock - Taken With Teal, Tempting Turquoise and Blush Blossom
Ink - Taken with Teal, Versamark
Other - 5/8" Vanilla Grosgrain Ribbon, Stampin' Sponges, Heat Tool, Clear Embossing Powder, Mat Pack, Paper Cutter, Paper Snips, Adhesive.

Polished Stone

This post is especially to show the ladies I was sitting with at the Cards Unlimited club night last night what I did with one of the polished stone backgrounds that I completed there. Thank you to Jo Beaver for reintroducing me to this fun technique. BTW I got 95% of the ink stains off my hands in the shower this morning. I have got to be the muckiest cardmaker ever!

So that I could use the reinkers that I already had I did not use the Adirondack alcohol inks and applicator that Jo used. Instead of the applicator I used cotton balls. (hence the multi-coloured hands).

Here's the card: -

Supplies used: -

Stampsets - Heartfelt Thanks & Spring Solitude

Ink: - Bashful Blue and Lovely Lilac Reinkers, Bold Brights Watercolour Crayons, Brilliant Blue Classic Ink Pad, Brilliant Blue and Green Galore Stampin' Write Markers, Gold Encore Metallic Ink Pad

Card: - White Gloss, Lovely Lilac

Other: - Paper Cutter, Paper Snips, Whisper White 6mm Grosgrain Ribbon, Water filled spray bottle, Cotton Balls, Rubbing Alcohol filled spray bottle.

Instructions for Polished Stone using reinkers can be found here on the Splitcoast stampers forum.

Colour Challenge No. 5

... and Yay! I've finally caught up. Taking three days out for carpet installation, one to pack, one to have it laid and one to tidy up agin, sure puts you behind.

DCM - Prints Charming

This week it's Lythan's turn to dare us. She wants us to include three different patterned papers on our card and as a double dare you can use three different makes. The double dare was a bit too much for me and after going through my scraps I found I'd also used three patterned papers from the same paper pack - SU's Petals and Paisleys. I haven't bought any of this paper during this catalogue year so it must be pieces of the pack I bought during the 2007/08 year. I am such a hoarder.

Anyway here is my card: -

Supplies used all Stampin' Up!®: -
Stamp Set - Everyday Flexible Phrases
Card and Paper - Whisper White, Certainly Celery and Petals and Paisleys DSP
Ink - Old Olive
Punches - 1 1/4", 1 3/8" and scallop circle punches, word window punch
Other - White 6mm grosgrain, Pink and Moss Gingham Ribbon, Paper Snips, Paper Cutter, Snail Adhesive.
Click here to go and see the creations by the Daring Cardmakers design team.

I Am Still Here

It's been a crazy week, with Funerals to go to, new carpet being put down, the start of workshops for me for the year and of course the boys are still around.

I have managed to get one card constructed. I say constructed as I used the instructions provided by Andrea Walford, a Canadian demonstrator, in her Demo to Demo newsletter.

Supplies all Stampin' Up!®: -

Stamp Set - Botanical Blooms

Cardstock and Papers: - Pretty in Pink, Purely Pomegranate, Whisper White, Berry Bliss DSP

Ink - Purely Pomegranate, Basic Black, Pretty in Pink, Old Olive

Other - Mat Pack, Soft Subtles Brads, Snail Adhesive, Paper Cutter
