DCM Dare: Tearing Purple Holes for Christmas

This is my first Christmas card. It is definitely time I got my skates on. This weeks dare is to make a Christmas card, using purple, a torn edge and it must have a hole in it.

Here's what I did:

The santa image was stamped onto white card with aubergine ink then masked using a post it note and the Merry Christmas background was stamped over the top. The hole in the card was made with a 1" circle punch and highlighted with a gold star. The card was finished by layering on aubergine card and gold metallic paper.

While searching the web today I came across this fantastic cardmaking 101 tutorial by Canadian Stampin' Up! demo Andrea Walford. Click Here. It includes the basics on what supplies to buy, how to cut a card blank through to some simple but stunning card designs. If using stamps in your card designs is something you would like to try this tutorial would be a great place to start.
