Occasions Cards Wednesday - Christmas Ornaments

What do you think of this colour combination?  I wasn't sure when I saw Always Artichoke and Island Indigo put together with Elegant Eggplant in my new Colour Coach, but as often happens once I've crafted with the combinations I find I really like them.

We're back to Christmas Cards for two reasons the first being we're nearly six months out from Christmas and if I don't start making cards I'm going to be in a mad panic to make enough just before I start to send them out.  

The second reason being that I've only got two weeks to make the most of the 'Delightful Decorations' stamp set and matching Ornament Punch before they retire for good on the 1st July.

Using MDS to Create Flyers and sharing as a Jpeg.

Another use for 'MDS' is to create flyers.

I've been working with Alison to create this flyer for the Scout Jamboree Fundraiser we are running on the 7th July.  Being able to 'Share' the flyer in a jpg format has made it easier to Email it to Alison.

Tips/Tricks Friday - Haven't got the right colour/size ribbon?

When I was prepping the samples for stamp club this month the instructions for this card called for Old Olive 5/8" Grosgrain ribbon.  The instructions I have were written some time ago and that ribbon is now retired.  What to do to get the same look?

For my card I've cut a piece of Old Olive cardstock 5/8" wide and trimmed the end just like I would have done with a piece of ribbon.

While the technique that I'm teaching my ladies for this card is the 'Joseph's Coat' technique there are always a few other tips/tricks that creep in as well.

It's Stamp Club week this week

Starting today, this afternoon and evening and finishing with the last session on Sunday I have groups of crafters coming to visit.  These ladies have become friends not only with me but with each over the time they've come to stamp club every month and learned new techniques for their paper crafting.

These are the projects we are making this month: -

Occasions Cards Wednesday - Icecream Cone Birthday

I found this Birthday card on Pinterest and thought I want to make something like that, even though it's Winter every celebration needs icecream.

Usually I would use the cupcake top from the 'Build A Cupcake' punch for my icecream scoops but as a team leader I often lend my stamp sets and tools to my team and that's where that punch is at the moment.  But not to be stopped on my mission I went back to how I used to make icecream scoops before the 'Build A Cupcake' punch.  I used half a 1 3/4" scallop circle.

Hunting through my designer series paper scraps I found some lovely old olive bits which were as close as I could find to my favourite lime flavour and that's how I chose the Old Olive colour combination for this card.
