.... and CUT!

I've managed to get organised early for the Stampin' Up! workshop I'm doing today with a lovely group of ladies in Waikanae so I thought I'd use the time to do the post for the lastest Daring Cardmakers Dare.

Tracie has challenged us to use some hand cutting on our cards. We've all got very used to cuttlebugs and craft robos and other cutting machines lately. I've been so busy this week that I didn't have time to dream up anything new so have made another version of a very popular card of mine the kiss technique elephant. The cut by hand piece is the elephants ear.

All images (c) Stampin' Up! 1990-2007

All products used in this card are Stampin' Up!. First heavily ink up Paisley Background stamp with Old Olive Ink then stamp the elephant from 'Wild About You' into the Paisley stamp. Next stamp the elephant on to whisper white cardstock. You should have a paisley elephant. Next stamp the elephant with old olive ink onto a scrap piece of whisper white cardstock and cut out the ear. Attach to the elephant. Stamp the flower in old olive ink on an old olive card blank to create the flower backgrounds then again in So Saffron ink in the elephants trunk. Layer the elephant image onto summer sun cardstock. Adhere piece of Petals and Paisley DS Paper to the bottom of the card blank and cover the edge with a strip of summer sun card. Adhere the elephant image as shown. Thank you to my Upline Sharlene Meyer for showing me the kiss technique.

Now off to the workshop. I'm looking forward to a nice leisurely drive up the coast to Waikanae then spending a couple of hours demonstrating projects and doing a make and take with some lovely ladies and a leisurely drive home again, hopefully selling some Stampin' Up! product in the process. What could be better.
