Birthday Workshop last night

Last night's hostess Nic chose to celebrate her Birthday with a Stampin' Up!® workshop.  Fabulous cards were made by all who wished to, even tho. there'd been a couple of glasses of wine consumed.  Maybe it helped.

Of course I had to make an extra gift for my hostess as a Birthday present.  The project I still had to complete from this year's field training fitting the bill exactly.

It was a great idea of the SU design team to use 2 Fancy Favor Boxes, cut with the Big Shot, one on top of the other and upside down to get the scallops around the bottom.  To get the shape of the punch they punched a greeting using the 1 3/4" Circle punch and then sliced the top and bottom off the circle.

I started this post shortly before 9am this morning.  It's now 1:20pm and I've just sneaked away from my 3 year old nieces to finish it off.

Supplies Used: -
Stamp Set - Every Moment
Paper - Baja Breeze, Very Vanilla & Old Olive Textured Cardstock
Ink - Baja Breeze, Old Olive, Riding Hood Red & Soft Suede Classic Stampin' Pads, Jet Black StazOn Pad, Soft Suede Stampin' Write Marker
Punch - 1 3/4" Circle Punch
Accessories - Old Olive Taffeta Ribbon, Linen Thread, Sticky Strip, Aqua Painter, Bone Folder, Crop A Dile, 1 3/4" Circle Punch, Paper Snips, Big Shot,
Fancy Favor Bigz XL Die

While crafting with Grace and Emily, my three year old nieces, this morning I found that it was much easier for them to use the newer style grey punches than the older black ones.  It could have been that the newer one was a 3/4' circle and the older one a black star punch with more angles to punch but I suspect it is the style of the punch that made it easier to use.

Go and have a look at the punches available in the new style on pages 146-148 of the 2010/2011 Idea Book and Catalogue.
