Traditional Use for a Round Tab Punch

The Round Tab Punch is a fantastic cardmaking and scrapbooking punch but don't forget it has traditional purposes as well.

I've used it here to add tabs to make it easier to find all those gorgeous colours, stamp sets, ribbons, punches etc etc in the 2010/2011 Idea Book and Catalogue.

Looking at punch shape 9 on page 147 of the Idea Book it is not instantly obvious how this punch comes together as a tab.  Here's how it works: -

Here's the punch with a small scrap of 'Certainly Celery' cardstock.

Turn the punch over and insert the scrap of cardstock into the punch.  You only need enough to fill the punch shaped hole.

Using the punch this way means you don't have to punch out of larger pieces of cardstock and cause waste.  You now have your tab and a shape you could sponge through if you wished.

Fold the punched tab and half and write your label on the skinny end with the fold pointed downwards.

Place your page between the sides of the folder tab and attach with adhesive or a staple.

My Idea Book and Catalogue all done!
