Fortune Tellers - A Blast from the Past

Yesterday we went to Lachlan's leavers event at Redwood School.  I felt old having a child leaving Primary School but I also felt old when I realised that I left the exact same school in 1976.  OUCH!

Now another Blast from the Past today with Stampin' Up!® turning the Fortune Tellers that we all used to make at school into treat holders.  Lachlan hadn't been taught to make them at school so was delighted to have instructions and made a traditional fortune teller using a 6"x6" piece of Designer Series Paper as per Stampin' Up!®'s instructions.

I of course had to go one better and this is my Fortune Teller treat box made with a piece of 12x12 Jolly Holiday designer series paper (a whole piece).

I've turned it over so you can see the resemblance to the fortune tellers I and maybe you used to make as kids.

And another photo so you can see the woodgrain detail, using the Woodgrain background stamp and the designer series brads from the 'Styled Silver Hodge Podge Hardware' that I used on the handle.

Remember that the Styled Silver Hodge Podge Hardware is available up until 29th December for $35.25 plus shipping (that's 50% off) as part of the December FrenzyEmail me to place your order now.

This is a great way of presenting sweets. I remember those fortune tellers from school in the 70s too. Whenever I'm feeling old I tell myself that these are just numbers!
