Happy New Year to you all. I hope you've had a relaxing break and are ready to get back into your crafting with new enthusiasm.
While I take a break over the school holiday period to spend more time with my boys it also gives me time to try out new techniques and project ideas. Some are just for fun but often those ideas will become projects that I demonstrate at workshops and events for you in the New Year.
This is the first project I had a go at over the holidays. I've taken my Big Shot and it's dies in a new direction cutting fabric. For a non sewer like me I found Brenda Quintan's video instructions to be just what I needed to get started.
I found the 'Wonder Under' adhesive sheet at Spotlight, bought a new Singlet Top at The Warehouse, and found some fabric scraps I'd put away for a project just like this one. I used the 'Blossom Party' Originals Die to cut my flowers.
I guess only time will tell to see how it wears and washes. I'm a little concerned that the non stretch fabric and felt may not hold on the stretch singlet top.
Now on to the Competition/Well a Challenge Really
I want you to create a project using a technique or a product that you've never used before. This will be a great way to get ink on those stamp sets that haven't yet seen the light of day or have a rummage through all those web pages you've bookmarked and use one or two of the techniques included.
When your project has been completed take a photo and either EMail it to me with details of the product/technique you've used for the first time or leave a comment on this post including details of the new technique/product with a link to where your photo can be found.
