Christmas Card Wednesday - Simply Stars finally sees ink

Do you have a stamp set that's been sitting uninked for a little while?  I don't usually, I'm really very good but I just couldn't get my head around the 'Simply Stars' set that I was given at Convention.  Luckily it's made a great background for the 'Christmas Star' single stamp and has finally seen ink.

While I was stamping the background I was thinking of a comment made out our team gathering last week that the 'Soft Sky' classic ink pad was way too light. I was off stamping to get an even lighter colour for my background. What do you think, is it too light for your style of stamping? 

Unfortunately the large star punch that I used to punch out the centre of the second Christmas Star image is now retired.
