DCM - Bejewelled Bliss & Happy Birthday Jane

This card serves two purposes today. Lythan has dared us to celebrate her 'Bejewelled Blitz' addiction by making a card with lots and lots of bling. I've used Dazzling Diamonds and Rhinestone brads. And tonight I'm going out with the family to celebrate by SIL Jane's birthday so this card is for her.

To see the other cards by the design team and join in with the dare click here to go to the Daring Cardmakers blog.

The glitter is stuck over the 'Fresh Cuts' image using a slightly larger piece of JAC, double sided adhesive, paper.

- Stamp image on whisper white cardstock cut JAC paper slightly larger than your image and stick over the image. With my JAC paper after taking over the bottom layer of paper I could see the image so knew where to place it.

- Trim around the JAC paper and image on your trimmer before you take the protective cover off.

- Take off protective cover and sprinkle over the dazzling diamonds.

My family have been telling me all day that I have glitter on my face.
BTW Bejewelled Blitz is a game available on Facebook.

Ribbon Weaving

Last night was a Keryn's Krew team meeting and the swap theme chosen by the team for this month was ribbon. I wanted the ribbon to be the focus of my card not just an accent and remembered the ribbon weaving I'd seen in the June Impressions magazine (a monthly magazine for Stampin' Up!® demonstrators). This is my take on the example shown in the magazine.

It's not the best photo but I've now swapped the cards with the team so I can't take another one.

DCM - On The Edge

It was a team dare from the Daring Cardmakers team this week and this is what we want you to do: -

"We'd love to see you making use of all sorts of border treatments; scallops, trims, pleats, or anything else which makes the edges of your papers and cards look special. You could use Border Punches, Die Cutters, Lace, Fancy Trims and that's just for starters - let your imagination live right on the edge this week - or maybe even go right over the edge!"

This is my card using of course my favourite scallop border punch. Thank you to Mary for her sunflower instructions.

Stamps, Punches & Cake Decorating

Look at the fabulous Christmas cake made by Heather one of my very talented customers.

This cake was featured and won a place in the Sugarcraft show at the New Dowse gallery earlier this month.

The trim on the bottom was made by stamping on sugar and then punching out the image with a circle punch.

You will recognise some of the decoration on this sugar card from the Stampin' Up!® 'Season of Joy' stamp set.

Heather creates Wedding and Celebration Cake to order. To contact Heather go to her Wellington Cakes website.

Hair tie Matchbooks

Isn't it amazing how the need to create just comes flowing back when small boys are back at school.

I found myself in Makeesha's website tonight and flicked back through all her posts that I'd missed until I found this Make it Monday for Matchbooks. AHA I thought I have some hair ties put aside for two little girls and it's their birthday party in a week and a half. Having no idea what to buy them yet, these will be a little something for them until I talk to my SIL about a present for them. I imagine that with the girls only turning two they are more likely to chew the matchbooks but my SIL will be impressed.

We Stamp - Clean and Simple Challenge

We Stamp have a challenge running at the moment to create a clean and simple card. Not much of a challenge for me as I've always been more of a stamper than an embellisher, but I thought a fantastic challenge for Lachy (9) and Cameron (6) who have always followed the more is more mantra in their cardmaking.

The boys have used anything they could find from my scrap box, gel pens and Lachy's retired 'Crew Kids Boy' Simply Scrappin' Kit plus the Occassional Greetins stamp set that was used in the We Stamp sample.

Here's the cards: -

Cameron

Lachy

All supplies used for mine are Stampin' Up!®: -
Stamp Sets: - Polka Dot, Time To Party
Cardstock - Pretty in Pink, Regal Rose, Basic Grey
Ink - Basic Grey, Regal Rose
Punches - Scallop Edge, 1/4" Circle (retired), Scallop Circle, 1 3/8" Circle
Accessories - Paper Cutter, Stampin' Sponges, Adhesive, Stampin' Dimensionals

For a Clean and Simple card I still seem to have used an awful lot of punches.

DCM: - Blue and Green....

....should never be seen the old saying goes. But don't they work beautifully on cards.

Thanks so much to Gillian and Cathryn for their advice on this card at Craft at Keryn's this morning.

This card started by me finding a tutorial on Splitcoast stampers using 'Stampin' Spots' on gloss card. But would you believe it I have no stampin' Spots. I've used instead some Versacolour cubes from my pre 'SU' days. Versacolour cubes are pigment ink rather than dye ink so I got a far more smudgy background than I intended. But I like it.

Most Supplies Stampin' Up!® -

Stamp Sets - Organic Grace & Best Yet

Paper - White Gloss Card and Brocade Blue Cardstock

Ink - Black Stazon and Versacolour Green and Imperial Blue, Artnic Evergreen

Accessories - Paper Cutter, Designer Label Punch, Paper Snips, Snail Adhesive, 2 Way Glue, Dazzling Diamonds.

Click here to visit the Daring Cardmakers blog to see the cards made by the design team and find out how to join in yourself.

This card will also be Donna's birthday card. We are going out for dinner tonight to celebrate Donna's birthday.

Corner Bookmarks

These corner bookmarks were just the perfect thing to make in front of the heater on Tuesday. I'd received the July Impressions magazine that Stampin' Up!® sends out to it's demonstrators on Monday but had to wait for a quiet moment away from the boys. Lucky I wasn't planning that for today as I've got them both home sick.

To the other SU demos who are reading this you can see I wasn't very inventive with my stamp set or punches. But any excuse to use Tart and Tangy. The DSP is Raspberry Tart and marker and Card colours are Real Red and Old Olive.
