MDS - How to give dimension to a flat printed image

For those of us who are paper crafters it can be hard to imagine ending up with a project that is printed completely flat.

Here are a couple of tricks to make your digitally created card have the dimension that we love.

While you are designing your card using the My Digital Studio Software you can add a drop shadow -

Double click on the element you want to add dimension too (in my casse it was an embellishment) and click on the 'drop shadow' icon to the right.

I like to have a large drop shadow so have chosen 50%.  Play around with the setting until you get the look you  want and click OK.

This is my finished card and you can see that I've added a couple of touches after my card design was printed.

1.  I've only printed the front of the card, then trimmed it and added it to a card base of Night of Navy cardstock.

2.  I've sponged the cut edges in Night of Navy classic ink.

3.  Although it's hard to see in the photo, I printed a second card front and cut out the middle hexagon and popped it up on stampin' dimensionals.

How much of your card/project is digitally created and how much is created traditionally is entirely up to you.

My project was created using: -

MDS Download - 130646
Summer Possibilities Digital Kit - 134705
Night of Navy A4 Cardstock - 106577
Night of Navy Classic Stampin' Pad -  126970
Stamping Sponges - 101610
Stampin' Dimensionals - 104430
