Christmas Card Wednesday using the Thinlit Label Card Die

Who doesn't like playing with new toys?  I had two turn up yesterday afternoon and like a kid on Christmas morning I had to get into them right away.  That might be why the dishes are still on the bench this morning.

One of the those toys was the Thinlit Label Card die that will be available to purchase on the 22nd October (next Tuesday) along with the Circle Card die as well.

The smaller label shape also comes in the thinlit pack along with 7 other dies that you can cut to decorate your cards with.

The Joyful Tidings message is from the Christmas Messages Stamp Set.  My version above is from the Christmas Message stamp brush set - digital download.  I was able to alter the size the of the image and colour it in 'MDS' to fit the extra large oval die.

I cut the thin strip of old olive cardstock by placing it across the thinlit card die and running it through the big shot so it exactly fitted the card - especially around the label cut out.

I used: -
Thinlits Label Card Die - 133479 (available 22nd October 2013)

Old Olive A4 Cardstock - 106576
Cherry Cobbler A4 Cardstock - 121681
Whisper White A4 Cardstock - 106549
Season of Style Designer Series Paper - 132340
Extra Large Oval Punch - 119859
Christmas Messages stamp brush set - digital download - 135268

Season of Style Designer Journaling Tags - Great Creative Pick Me Up

Sometimes as a Stampin' Up!® Demonstrator I find myself crafting for classes, workshop projects, examples for this blog and my social networking sites.  Not for me like my card making used to be.

And yes I am posting all about it on my blog but I promise the crafting came first this time, not the need for a blog post.

It was a pack of Journaling Tags that got me crafting for fun on this rainy, slightly cold Saturday afternoon.  I didn't have to think too much it was really easy.  Here's the first three tags I made adding the smallest tags, matted and glittered, to chalk talk framelit tags finished with cherry cobbler stitched edge grosgrain ribbon.

There's 35 different sized tags in the pack so I couldn't stop at just 3 tags.  After I took this photo I made another tag and 5 cards which I'll save for another post.

When you pop over to my online store to look for the Season of Style designer journaling tags don't forget to check out the single clear mount Christmas stamps and the rest of the Season of Style suite

When placing your online order don't forget to add September's Hostess Code - GT2RD7C2 - to your order and be in to win the hostess benefits.

Occasions Card Wednesday - Holiday Catalogue Sneak Peek

It's only one day until the Holiday Catalogue goes live and you can purchase all the yummy products inside but shock horror there are still some of my preordered products that I'm yet to try out.

Today's post was the perfect excuse to try out the 'Wishing You' stamp set, Season of Style Designer Series Paper Stack and the Cherry Cobbler 1" Stitched Edge Grosgrain ribbon.

The present stack is all one image so to get the different colours I could have coloured the stamp with Stampin' Write markers. However, this time I chose to stamp the image three times using different colours (Cherry Cobbler, Chocolate Chip & Old Olive) and paper piece the image to get the different colours.

So as not to waste the remaining cut out present images I put together two more projects, a 10cm square greeting card and a tag cut using the 'Chalk Talk' framelits.  All the projects are on a Crumb Cake base, even the tag to give it some stability, so I've used all the colours in the Season of Style paper stack (Cherry Cobbler, Crumb Cake, Chocolate Chip, Old Olive & Whisper White).

I used: -
Wishing You Stamp Set (Available 29/8/13) - 131748 (wood), 131751 (clear)
Season of Style Designer Series Paper Stack (Available 29/8/13) - 132181
Crumb Cake A4 Cardstock - 121685
Old Olive A4 Cardstock - 106576
Cherry Cobbler A4 Cardstock - 121681
Whisper White A4 Cardstock - 106549
Old Olive Classic Stampin' Pad  - 126953
Chocolate Chip Classic Stampin' Pad - 126979
Cherry Cobbler Classic Stampin' Pad - 126966
Big Shot Die Cut Machine - 113439
Chalk Talk Framelits - 129983
Cherry Cobbler 1" Stitched Edge Grosgrain Ribbon (Available 29/8/13) - 132135
Rhinestone Basic Jewels - 119246

Pop back at 12pm tomorrow for the ESAD 'Holiday Catalogue' blog hop showcasing product from the Holiday Catalogue.

My Digital Studio - Photobook Templates

I've just used my first MDS Photobook Template to create my 2013/2014 Christmas Diary and I will be using templates again for sure.  So easy to get started with the colours and layout already sorted.  But with that there are so many places that you can make it your own.

The cover above started as a blank page of Designer Series Paper - Season of Style.  You could add anything you wanted to make it your own.

There was room on the front page to personalise it with pictures from Christmas's past.  The cuties in the photo are ten years older now.

With Calender pages included for September - December 2013 as in the photo I found it was really easy to copy pages and add another two for January & February 2014.

Under your project you can select the thumbnail of the page your want to copy with the right mouse button and select the option that suits you best - Insert Duplicate page - was the one I used.

There are also pages for keeping track of who you sent your cards too, present ideas, food ideas, packaging ideas and you could add your own as well as removing the ones you don't need.

I used my inkjet printer to print my photo book on to 8x8" whisper white card stock.  If you've got a binding tool you'll be able to bind it yourself but as I don't I got mine bound at Warehouse Stationery for about $3.50.

I used: -
 - My Digital Studio Software - 130646
 - This and That Season of Syle Photobook Digital Download - 134857
  - Whisper White A4 Cardstock - 106549
